David offers strategic advisory to financial services firms, leadership teams and boards. Drawing on three decades of hands-on experience growing commercial franchises — including building BNY Mellon’s EMEA hedge fund business from a single client to a top three global provider, and leading Moody’s EMEA commercial strategy across sovereign, financial institution and corporate markets — David brings a practitioner’s perspective to challenges of revenue growth, market positioning, client strategy and regulated market entry.
David has engaged directly with regulators including ESMA, FCA and the Bank of England, contributed to enterprise-level strategic forums, and served as an advisory board member at Bayes Business School for 15 years. His consultancy work is grounded in real commercial leadership rather than theoretical frameworks.

David is a qualified executive coach, holding an Executive Coaching Certificate and Advanced Group Coaching qualification from INSEAD (using the systems psychodynamicapproach), alongside training in Leading Across Borders and Cultures. He has coached senior leaders, Managing Directors, C-suite executives and high-potential talent across financial services, capital markets, professional services and beyond — in Advanced Group Coaching qualification from INSEAD (using the systems psychodynamicapproach), alongside training in Leading Across Borders and Cultures. Applying the Person/Role/Organisation (PRO) model, David helps leaders understand the dynamics of their particular situation and chart a route to successful execution — drawing on his own lived experience of leading through change at the highest levels.

With a career built on building and developing high-performing commercial teams, David brings first-hand expertise in identifying capability gaps and designing targeted development programmes. At BNY Mellon and Moody’s, he specified and oversaw bespoke training programmes for large sales teams across multiple geographies — including negotiation skills coaching and structured development initiatives for teams of 60 across 13 offices.
David works with organisations and individuals to identify the competencies that matter most for career progression, and designs or oversees programmes that build practical, applicable skills — from commercial acumen and stakeholder management to executive presence and team leadership effectiveness.
